About Sandy

My Story

My love of dogs and desire to work with them began at age 7 - when a new Irish Setter puppy arrived in our family and I insisted on being the sole carer and trainer of my new best friend, Honey. Saturday training classes, Barbara "Walkies!" Woodhouse books and home made agility courses were the basis of my early training. Yikes!

Jumping forward a couple of decades, I took extensive personal training with Sylvia and Danny Wilson, the founding owners of "Bark Busters" which is now the world's largest dog training company. After running a Bark Busters business in Sydney, Australia for almost a year, I set up the first franchise in Canada in 2004 - a time when in-home training was almost unheard of.

While Sylivia and Danny's extensive experience and teachings formed the basis of my understanding of dog psychology, nothing beats hands-on experience,

extra-curricular learning and most importantly, being able to see things from a dog's point of view.

If I can get into your dog's head, so to speak, I can understand why he or she is acting in a particular way. (That's why we call it therapy!) Then I can teach you what you need to do to help your best buddy through the confusion or misunderstandings that form the basis of what we humans call "Bad Behaviour".

In going solo with Canine Perspective, I'm incredibly grateful to be able to go 'outside the script' and to contine to learn from the very best teachers - the dogs themselves.
